Earle B. Mahoney dedicated his life to medicine, becoming a nationally and internationally known heart surgeon. After being graduated from Hobart as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mahoney attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and became professor of surgery and chairman of the Division of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. During his 36 years at the medical school, Mahoney received numerous awards and citations, including the Albert David Kaiser Medal of the Academy of Medicine, the National Society of University Surgeons and was for many years active in the American Heart Association.
