John graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor's degree in history. He served as an assistant and associate director of admissions at Colgate for seven years, and then made a move to become Director of Admissions at Skidmore College. He joined the HWS staff in 2005.

Bill graduated from Hobart College in 1996 with a dual major in comparative literature and Greek. He completed a master's degree in liberal studies at Nazareth College. Before returning to his alma mater in 2005, Bill taught English at Avon Old Farms School and served as the head lacrosse coach at the University of Hartford. Bill works with a number of individual schools around the country.

Sue earned a bachelor's degree in history from William Smith College in 1999 and completed the education program. After earning a master's degree in history and serving as a graduate assistant soccer coach at Washington College, she returned to William Smith as assistant coach for the Herons in 2001. From there, Sue went on to coach soccer at both the NCAA Division I and III levels, before rejoining HWS in the Office of Admissions.

Kate graduated from William Smith in 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in individual studies – Diversity in the Workplace. Following graduation, Kate was the first AmeriCorps VISTA member at HWS, serving with the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning. She later worked at Massachusetts Campus Compact, where she was the coordinator of student initiatives. Kate returned to HWS in 2012, accepting a position as a New England regional representative.

Alison graduated from State University of New York College at Buffalo where she received a bachelor’s degree in education in 2000. Prior to joining the admissions staff at HWS, Alison worked as a college and career coordinator for the Pittsford Central School district.

Brianne is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and a 2013 graduate of William Smith. During her time at HWS she served as Class President, was a teaching fellow for the Anthropology Department and studied abroad in Argentina, among other things. She majored in Sociology and Latin American Studies and minored in Child Advocacy. After graduation, she joined Teach For America in Miami, Florida and earned a Master's in Education and Social Change from the University of Miami while participating in the program.

Luke graduated from Hobart College in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in English and minors in both art history and European studies. He developed his concentration in modernist Irish literature while studying abroad in Galway, Ireland. While on campus, Luke worked for four years as a tour guide in Admissions and served as a Writing Colleague. He was also an active member of the Hobart club rugby team and the male a cappella group, the Hobartones.

"From the small, highly engaging classes to the close-knit community outside the classroom, an HWS education enables students to grow in confidence and character as they make invaluable academic, personal, and professional connections. Maren graduated from Siena College in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in English. While at Siena, Maren played four years of varsity soccer, serving as a captain during her senior year. Upon graduation, Maren worked for three years as an assistant director of admissions at Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y. She joined the HWS admissions team in 2015.

"I am excited about my position with the HWS Admissions Office because I have a unique opportunity to help build a dynamic community—one that is diverse, enriching, and engaged. The HWS community is a training ground for good members of society. It is a community that allows men and women to cultivate their minds while providing the resources to live principled and meaningful lives."

Rose Cherubin '15

Rose graduated from William Smith College in 2015 with a BA in public policy (healthcare concentration) and a minor in anthropology. She studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she focused on healthcare delivery and prioritization in Northern Europe. On campus, she served as the prime minister of the Caribbean Student Association, a residential assistant in Residential Education, and served on various campus committees comprised of other students, faculty, and staff.

"Ever since I submitted my application as a prospective student in 2011, I have received much generosity from members of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges' community, many of whom are still a part of my support system. I have grown so much as a person while at the Colleges, and could not have asked for a better undergraduate experience. No matter what walk of life one comes from, people are always willing to lend a helping hand. I am excited to work with the Office of Admissions to "pay it forward" and help provide other students the awesome opportunities of having a Hobart and William Smith education as I received."

Emily graduated from William Smith in 2016 after earning a BA in media and society with a focus in advertising, and a minor in studio art. While a student at HWS, she was a member of the William Smith soccer team, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and she participated in the America Reads program tutoring local grade school students. Emily was also a design intern during the construction of the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts and worked as a marketing intern in the Admissions Office during her senior year. In her junior year she studied art and architecture abroad in Rome, Italy. While abroad, she traveled to Austria, Greece, and 14 other towns within Italy to build her portfolio.

"During my time at HWS as a student, the Colleges helped me understand how vital it is to be involved with and help your local community. I am now pursuing a career that I am passionate about while also helping students invest in their futures."

Zoe Eth '16

Zoe Eth graduated from William Smith in 2016 with a B.S. in biology and a minor in health professions. While a student, she was a member of the Heron soccer team, including the 2013 Division III National Championship team. Eth was also a member of the William Smith Athletics Core Leadership Program for two years. She interned at an elementary school in Haiti, as well as for the Burr Lab group at the Cornell Agricultural Station where she researched a biocontrol for Pierce's Disease, which infects grape vines. Eth currently serves as the head coach of the Heron JV soccer program.

"During my time at HWS I learned that in order to grow you must continue to find ways to get out of your comfort zone. Not only did HWS push me to grow, but everyone—faculty, staff, peers and coaches—supported me through the process. I am honored and excited to be able to show prospective students the incredible community that we have on this campus."

Ian graduated from Skidmore College in 2017 with a bachelor of science degree in health and exercise sciences, and a minor in Spanish. While at Skidmore, Ian was a resident assistant, Peer Mentor and avid intramural volleyball and tennis player. However, Ian's favorite job while on campus was working as a head tour guide in the admissions office. He also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, during his junior year.

Max graduated from Hobart College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies and a minor in Political Science. While at HWS he was able to study in Rome, Italy, and while on campus served as a Resident Assistant, Hobart Student Trustee, and a tutor for America Reads in the local community. Further, Max was a member of the male a capella group, the Hobartones, and enjoyed playing intramural sports. Prior to joining the Admisisons staff in the summer of 2017 he worked for some time in Manhattan at an interior design and architectural firm and traveled throughout Europe. Max represents Hobart and William Smith in the Midwest, Pennsylvania, and a slice of Connecticut.

Christine graduated from William Smith in 2017 with a double major in English and media and society and a minor in Spanish. In the fall of her junior year, Christine studied abroad in Seville, Spain. On campus, she was a member of the HWS sailing team, the club alpine ski team, and the all-female a cappella group, Three Miles Lost.

"Whether it was from a fellow student, or someone from the faculty and staff, I always felt supported in my efforts to grow while at HWS. A student with many interests, I never felt like my opportunities were limited and I was always encouraged to explore different paths. I feel very lucky to have made such deep connections with the people of HWS and Geneva."

Evan earned is B.A. in environmental studies at Hamilton College in 2016. He originally came to HWS as the William Smith cross country head coach in March of 2017 and joined the admissions team later that year. Evan’s work consists of all things admissions software and technology.
