Touch Grass February 20, 2025
Touch Grass served as an opportunity to reconnect with the natural environment during the dead of winter. The artwork within this exhibition represented the act of stepping away from your internal bubble and grounding yourself in the outside world.
Black Then. Black Now. was curated by Cori Chapman ‘26 as her Critical Museum Studies capstone project. This exhibition invited visitors to engage with a collection of photographs from the HWS Archives that document the lives and experiences of Black students on campus in the early 1970s. Students created artwork that reflected the struggles and triumphs of Black students from that era, while connecting this legacy to their own current experiences. Through a variety of mediums, these works explored themes of race, identity, and resilience.
Set in Motion explored work that was inspired by other media, such as movies or music, and included a spotlight on Free Fallin’, Mia Tetrault’s ‘25 Honors project in Media and Society and American Studies.
