For Atypical, PSAG exhibited work that fell outside of common art world traditions. From knit portraits and collaged canvases, to woven book baskets and functional music boxes, Atypical broke from the idea that galleries consist of rectangles on white walls.

Mapping the Self: Sixty Islands by Sixty Students was created in collaboration with Professor of American Studies Kirin Makker’s class, AMST 202: Watercolor for Study and Storytelling. Exploring the question ‘How do maps help us tell stories about ourselves and our lives?’ students detailed these landscapes to represent their ‘personal cartography.
