8th Annual Somatic Dance Conference & Performance Festival
July 6-10, 2022
“Embodying Joy: Empowering Students and Ourselves with Somatic Knowledge” is dedicated to the memory of Cadence Joy Whittier, a beloved professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and an international leader in somatic dance theory, pedagogy, choreography and performance.

The Somatic Dance Conference & Performance Festival features presenters, choreographers and performers from around the globe in four days of sessions, workshops and presentations, three adjudicated dance concerts, and round table conversations. 23rd Annual Evans Somatic Dance Institute (BETI)
July 1-7, 2022
The Somatic Dance Conference & Performance Festival will be preceded by a five-day, six-evening intensive workshop for experienced and emerging dance educators, including college graduate and undergraduate students planning on becoming teachers. The intensive features sessions in Evans Somatic Dance Technique, Evans Pedagogy, and the creation and performance of a new contemporary dance work. Faculty include Heather Acomb, Bill Evans, Don Halquist, Debra Knapp, and guest artist Edisa Weeks.
