THE FULBRIGHT U.S. SCHOLAR program 2026-2027 COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. The application deadline was September 15, 2025, 11:59 p.m. PST.

The Fulbright Scholar Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Participating governments and host institutions, corporations, and foundations around the world also provide direct and indirect support to the Program, which operates in over 160 countries worldwide.

Fulbright now has more flexible award options and the Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF) provides opportunities to bring scholars to campus even if you do not meet the eligibility requirements for the scholar programs (sign up here for OLF status updates).
