Student SpotlightLinking Physics with Social and Environmental Awareness
DIMOSTHENIS CHRYSOCHOOU ’22
For two summers through the Summer Research Program, Dimosthenis detected harmful algae blooms in the Finger Lakes and then measured a rocket’s pitch for a project with NASA to better understand spatial awareness in navigation.
Now headed to Columbia University through HWS’ joint-degree engineering program, Dimosthenis says:
“The interface between social sciences and STEM is oftentimes overlooked, but I think that to understand the importance of our work, it’s really important to be socially aware.”
