The Bradford House, built in 1840, housed two different schools prior to its purchase by the Colleges in 1967. It currently is home of The Thomas Poole Family Admissions Center.

In a special edition of This Week in Photos, HWS student photographers Elizabeth Fajardo ’20, Adam Farid ’20 and Dhiraj Mukkamala ’20 present “Then and Now,” a look at Hobart and William Smith campus today and yesterday. Whether the 1960s or the 2010s, the Quad is always a popular place to relax on a sunny day.

In 1958, two William Smith tennis players shake hands on the newly constructed tennis courts. In 2017, the HWS Tennis Center features the Morrow Championship Court, the Melly Court and the Hebard Court.

The Hobart football team practices on the Quad in 1906. The team’s current home, Boswell Field was built in 1974.

In 1972, a Fall Nationals cart races down William Smith Hill. The race remains a crowd-pleaser during Homecoming and Family Weekend.
