Dan Sliney ’22 scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Hobart’s 4-2 win over then No. 2 Trinity. The Statesmen posted a 20-5-3 record and earned their sixth consecutive invitation to the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship. -
The HWS sailing team opened the spring season winning the George Washington Team Race. Hector Guzman '20 and Maya Weber '20 led the Colleges to a 14-1 record on the weekend, crossing the line 1-2 in nine of their first 10 races. The duo became the first HWS sailors to earn All-America honors in each of their four seasons. -
Maialen Martinez '21 scored the game-winning goal 1:47 into the second overtime to lift William Smith past No. 10 Hardin-Simmons 1-0. The Herons advanced to the national championship game and finished the year second in the nation. Martinez was named the D3soccer.com Defender of the Year and was the United Soccer Coaches Scholar Player of the Year. -
Binjo Emmanuel '20 anchored Hobart’s defense to a 1-0 victory over then No. 5 Messiah to open the season. The Statesmen went on to win the Liberty League Championship and Emmanuel was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region first team. -
Julia Mings ‘21 scored the biggest goal of the year for the William Smith hockey team. She netted the game winner 30 seconds into overtime to beat fourth-ranked Elmira 4-3. It’s the highest ranked opponent the Herons have ever beaten. -
Ellie Burns '21 recorded five points on four goals and an assist as William Smith defeated Oswego 18-3 in its home opener. -
Will Harrison '21 led the Statesmen golf team in scoring average, 79.8. He recorded seven of the team’s 16 rounds in 70s, tying for the team’s best round with a 75 in the first round of the Utica Invitational. -

Alan Dubrovsky '20 opened the season winning A flight singles and doubles at the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic. He went on to post an 11-3 overall record. Dubovsky finished his career with a 76-22 record in singles play, second most in program history. -
Maggie Bonomo '22 was a team best 7-4 in singles play this year. She won the A flight Consolation bracket at the Mary Hosking Invitational to open the season. - Jason Knox ’22 broke the Hobart Division I era single game record with an incredible 10 tallies against Siena. He also held the previous mark, scoring nine goals against the Saints in 2019. The 2020 Statesmen led Division I in scoring offense, averaging 19.6 goals per game.

Gabby Fraser '20 won all three of her matches at No. 2 on the ladder, leading the Herons to the 2019-20 Liberty League Championship, the Herons’ first conference title since 2005-06. She finished the year with a team-best 17-5 overall record. -
The Old Brick Plant, Watercolor, by Arthur Dove in 1937, Gift of Richard A. Scudamore ’55. Dove was a member of the Hobart class of 1903 before receiving his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Originally from Geneva where his father owned a brick plant, he painted many of his most influential works while living on Exchange Street.
