As a family member of a Hobart or William Smith student, we've compiled some important deadlines for student opportunities within various offices on campus. Check back often for additional events and deadlines.

General - Fall 2021

  • Aug. 19-22: New Student Orientation
  • Aug. 22: Campus residences open for returning students
  • Aug. 23: First day of classes
  • Aug. 27: Last day to drop/add courses
  • Sept. 24-26: Homecoming and Family Weekend
  • Oct. 9-12: Fall recess
  • Oct. 25-29: Spring 2022 Semester Advising Week
    Students meet each semester with their academic adviser. See academic expectations and advising.
  • Nov. 1-12: Registration
    Students register for classes for the Spring 2022 semester. See the Office of the Registrar's website.
  • Nov. 24-26: Thanksgiving recess
  • Dec. 3: Last day of classes
  • Dec. 4-6: Reading Days
  • Dec. 7-10 Final examinations
  • Dec. 11: Residences close at noon
  • Dec. 12-Jan. 23, 2022: Winter Break
