Bill Payment Options

1. TO PAY ONLINE

Pay online via your checking or savings bank account. You would follow the same instructions for logging in to see the E-Bill. In this case, you would be clicking on the button to make a payment. There is no fee for this service. US bank required, and not available with most investment or line of credit accounts.

  • Go to hwsportal.hws.edu
  • Click on Campus Solutions, and log in
  • Go to Main Menu, Self Service, Student Center
  • Under the Finances Section, select the blue link "View Bill and Payment Options"
    Note: You may need to enable the Nelnet site from your pop-up blocker to progress to the next screen.
  • From here you can view your charges, e-bills and make payments

Simple Steps to make an online payment using checking or savings - as Parent or other Authorized Parties:

  • Authorized parties can access/manage the account and make payments at any time by logging into online.campuscommerce.com, provided they were added as an authorized party by the student.

Note: Nelnet provides customer service at 800-609-8056.

2. TO PAY BY CHECK

Be sure to include the student ID on your check or money order. The Binghamton, NY address is a JP Morgan Chase Bank lockbox processing facility. Please do not include written correspondence concerning your account as the lockbox facility will not communicate this information as part of their processing. 3. TO PAY BY 529 PLAN WITHDRAWAL

Please contact your 529 plan administrator and tell them to be sure to include the student ID on the check or remittance. The Binghamton, NY address is a JP Morgan Chase Bank lockbox processing facility. Please do not include written correspondence concerning your account as the lockbox facility will not communicate this information as part of their processing. Please have the administrator mail check payment to: Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Department #116060, P.O. Box 5211, Binghamton, NY 13902-5211 There are often significant lag times from when 529 funds are requested vs. when it is received by the school. You will want to plan to put in your 529 withdrawal request in plenty of advance time of payment due dates.

4. TO PAY BY WIRE

6. TO PAY WITH AN OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIP CHECK

7. TO ENROLL IN A MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN

Pay monthly by enrolling in a tuition payment plan administered by Nelnet Campus Commerce. Instructions for sign up are below. Do not include work study in the calculation for a payment plan. (Work study is not credited as a payment to the student account; your student will receive a paycheck instead.)

Tuition Payment Plan Registration - to spread payments over a maximum of five months per term. Go to mycollegepaymentplan.com/hws for details on available payment plans.

  • Payment Methods
    • Automatic bank payment (ACH) via checking or savings account
    • You choose the payment date - either the 1st or the 15th of the month
  • Cost to Participate
    • $25 enrollment fee per semester, paid directly to Nelnet
    • $30 returned payment fee, if a payment is returned, paid directly to Nelnet

NOTE: All down payments are processed immediately. Delinquent accounts will be levied late fees and registration holds in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Please note that your payment plan contract amount will NOT be automatically adjusted, even if your charges or financial aid is increased/decreased. You should review your balance online and make any necessary payment plan contract adjustments manually.
