23 August 2018 Lawrence '07 Produces Netflix's Recovery Boys

Alexandra Zana Lawrence '07 is an executive producer of Netflixs latest documentary, Recovery Boys. Released in June, the 90-minute film follows four young men on an 18-month journey as they attempt to reinvent their lives after years of opioid abuse. Set in a farming-based rehabilitation center in rural West Virginia, the documentary invites viewers to watch as the men battle to overcome addiction and undergo a traumatic recovery process to reenter society.

As manager of Netflix's Original Documentary and Comedy Programming, Lawrence has produced a number of films, including Rapture, End Game, The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson and Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press. Available to stream on Netflix, Recovery Boys is directed by Elaine McMillion Sheldon, director of Netflixs Oscar-nominated Best Documentary Short Subject, Heroin(e), of which Lawrence is also an executive producer.

Lawrence graduated from William Smith with a B.A. in English and studied abroad in London, England. A member of the Colleges Career Network, Lawrence is a frequent panelist for the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Educations Behind the Scenes Los Angeles Experience. Lawrence previously worked at Maven Pictures and as an assistant to the actor, producer and writer Justin Long.
