Hobart and William Smith have been named among the nations best colleges and universities for having outstanding academics, affordability and financial aid, and student outcomes.
The national recognition appears in the Princeton Reviews 2017 edition of the Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck. Points of distinction noted for HWS include strong student-faculty engagement, career preparation and guaranteed internship programs, a personalized financial aid program, and a robust alum network. In addition, the newly released book also places the Colleges in the spotlight for being a top producer of U.S. Fulbright Student Awards, with 14 students earning the prestigious international fellowship during the past two years.
Ive never had a professor that did not inspire me while here, one student comments in the Colleges profile. Schools are selected based on an analysis of their individual return on investment (ROI). Data included areas such as academics, cost, financial aid, graduation rates and student debt. Surveys from students and administrators were also used, as well as data from PayScale.coms online compensation survey on starting and mid-career salaries of alums of the schools.
