11 September 2025 • Alums HWS Remembers 9/11
HWS recalls the solemn anniversary of September 11, 2001 with reflection and community.
The HWS community will pause to remember and reflect on the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 attacks and to honor the courage of the first responders who answered the call.
On Wednesday morning, members of Kappa Alpha Society, coordinated by Brooks Stephenson ’25, will continue the fraternity’s tradition of placing 2,977 flags on the Quad, one for each life lost.
From 11:30 - 1 p.m., Will Hogan ’26 will host a “Remembrance and Reflection” table in Scandling Campus Center, coordinated by the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, offering space for the community to read, reflect and write letters in memory of the day.
In partnership with the Geneva Fire and Police Departments and local EMS, HWS students, faculty and staff are also invited to join the City of Geneva for the annual remembrance ceremony at Long Pier at 10 a.m.
