All international applicants who wish to be considered for financial aid must complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE and the Certification of Finances. Designate Hobart and William Smith Colleges by using school code 2294. Complete the application using your estimated/actual income and tax information by November 15 for Early Decision I and Early Action candidates; January 15 for Early Decision II candidates; and February 1 for all other applicants.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges do not offer financial aid waivers. We offer merit based scholarships as well as need-based grants to international students.
The average package typically equals more than half the annual cost of tuition, room and board. Highly competitive applicants will be considered for a full tuition scholarship.
Financial aid is available for a maximum of eight semesters for those who enroll as first-year students. For those entering with advanced standing (transfers), aid is available for the time allotted to complete a degree.
Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and, if it becomes apparent that such need no longer exists, may be reduced.
Financial aid funds are disbursed only after students receive their F-1 visa status.
