A Collaborative Investment in the Geneva Community and Youth since 1968

Since its founding, Geneva Scholarship Associates and HWS have awarded more than $2.3 million in direct scholarship assistance to more than 240 graduates of Geneva schools to support their enrollment at HWS. This unique partnership began when then HWS President Albert E. Holland collaborated with the owners of a number of local businesses to create a community-driven organization to provide endowed scholarship support for academically and financially deserving Geneva students to attend Hobart and William Smith. The scholarship fund has grown dramatically through the annual financial support of thousands of individuals and businesses as well as the generosity of individuals who have endowed GSA scholarships.

“The GSA program allowed me to attend and enjoy the prestigious institution of Hobart and William Smith. It provided me with the opportunity to succeed in college, take insightful courses and get involved outside of the classroom. With the assistance of GSA, I have gained valuable knowledge on how to approach my future.”

How to Apply

To be considered for the Geneva Scholarship Associates (GSA), simply apply to HWS for admission, be a Geneva High School student and be accepted. No separate scholarship application is required.

GSA recipients are also eligible for additional merit awards and need-based aid. Some other scholarships may require separate applications—learn more about those opportunities.

Please note: GSA is not transferable to other colleges or universities.

“Thanks to the GSA I had a consistent network to fall back on and could focus on my studies and enjoying my time at HWS.”

Outcomes

GSA Scholars make a lasting impact as students at HWS and throughout their lives, wherever they go and in whichever field they pursue. After graduation, many remain in Geneva, contributing their talents to local organizations, businesses and the community. Others set out for new cities, states or even countries, building lives and careers in different communities while remaining deeply grateful for the opportunities made possible by the GSA Scholarship.
