Associate Professor of Physics Ileana Dumitriu (left) and Professor of Environmental Studies John Halfman deploy a buoy on Owasco Lake. Part of a Finger Lakes Institute research project, the buoy monitors fluctuations in environmental conditions and water quality. This data supplements data acquired from weekly sampling on the lake regarding nutrient levels, algal and toxin concentrations and water chemistry.
