To preserve the safety and health of the HWS community, the Colleges announced a shift to a remote learning model on March 13. Head Basketball Coach Stefan Thompson '13 talks to his team during a timeout in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship in Springfield, Mass., where the Statesmen bested the St. Joseph Blue Jays 78-74. After topping Springfield College 62-61, the team advanced to the round of 16 for the first time in program history and was preparing to play in Newport News, Va., when the tournament was cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns.
