Odell's Pond

Students relax in the living room of an Odell's unit.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges has a 4-year residency requirement. All first-year, sophomore, junior and senior students are required to reside on campus. We believe that the liberal arts education our students receive at HWS overflows into their residential experience. Because of that, we provide independent living spaces for our junior and senior students. These locations are meant to emulate the experience of living off-campus – with more autonomous opportunities for living and learning with your peers.

Our independent living options include The Village at Odell’s Pond and Senior Interest Houses.

The Village at oDELL’S pond

Located next to the Bristol Field House, the Village at Odell’s Pond is home to junior and senior students. Odell’s Village consists of four-person and five-person townhouses. Each townhouse is equipped with:

Single bedroom for each resident

2 bathrooms (1 per floor)

Outdoor patio space

Full Kitchen

Furnished living room

Off-Street parking

There are laundry facilities located throughout the complex for students to access.

SENIOR INTEREST HOUSES

Perhaps one of the most unique parts of the Colleges’ residential experience are the small houses scattered throughout campus. Senior Interest Houses have 6-9 students residing in them and are only available for seniors, giving students an exclusive experience for their final year of college. The houses are equipped with full kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms – giving our seniors the feeling of living off-campus with a group of their friends.

The houses available for this experience vary each year based on student interests and needs.
