HWS going social for Reunion
2 June 2011 HWS going social for Reunion
Reunion Weekend at Hobart and William Smith Colleges is all about reconnecting with friends and sharing stories and thats why the Colleges are planning wall-to-wall coverage of Reunion Weekend on its social media platforms.
New features for this years Reunion Weekend will include a live blog. Using ScribbleLIVE software, readers will be able to get the latest Reunion news, photos and event updates as they happen. Hosted by Student Social Media Editor Andrew Donovan 12, with contributions from Melissa Sue Sorrells Galley 05 and other campus community members, blog readers off campus will be part of the action.
Twitter will also be a large part of the social media landscape this weekend. The Colleges will bring back #HWSReunion as the official hashtag to be included with all tweets pertaining to the big event. Tweet when you get to campus and let everyone know youre ready for a great weekend. Remember, be sure to add #HWSReunion to each post.
Facebook, as in past years, will also have the latest Reunion Weekend information, links, photos and updates. Also, dont forget to check-in to Hobart and William Smith Colleges used Facebook Places and Foursquare.
In addition, as youre moving throughout campus, be sure to check out the new Reunion Mobile website on your phone at www.hws.edu/mobile. From the mobile site, you can access the full Reunion schedule as well as a campus map and the live blog.
Theres no better time to offer an extensive social experience than during Reunion Weekend. Its a great interactive way for Reunion-goers to get up-to-the-minute information and event changes and an equally great place for those who couldnt be on campus to join in on the festivities virtually, said Donovan.
