30 September 2026 HWS Day of Donors: 24 Hours of Impact
The 24-hour giving challenge on Oct. 6-7 supports scholarships, global education, internships, research, student life and the areas of greatest need across HWS.
HWS Day of Donors will take place on Oct. 6-7, bringing the HWS community together for 24 hours to support the Annual Fund. Donors can direct their gifts to six priority areas, including: scholarships, study abroad, internships, research, student life and greatest need. Together, these pillars support students from the moment they arrive on campus through the academic, professional and personal experiences that define their four years.
HWS Day of Donors also includes a $25,000 giving challenge tied to donor participation. When 250 donors make a gift, a $10,000 contribution to the Annual Fund from Trustee Linda Arrington ’88 will be unlocked. Reaching the goal of 500 donors will unlock an additional $15,000 gift from Board Chair Joseph C. Stein III ’86 and Nancy Ann Hedges Stein ’86. Gifts of any amount count toward the donor total, giving every participant an opportunity to help HWS reach both milestones and unlock the full $25,000. HWS is grateful to Arrington and the Steins for their generosity and for inspiring the community to come together in support of students.
To celebrate HWS Day of Donors, six students have shared how resources provided by the Annual Fund have shaped their experiences and changed their lives. Read about Juliza Ariza ’27, Andy Dinh ’27, Grace McCormick ’28, Isabella Miller ’28, Rupert Ramsay ’27 and Nicholas Short ’27.
On Oct. 6, the Office of Advancement will take over Scandling Campus Center, connecting with students to share the importance of philanthropy and to host a gratitude station. There, students can write thank-you notes to the HWS community members who have made an impact on their lives.
Students who participate in an HWS trivia contest can win golf cart rides around campus with Senior Philanthropic Advisor Bob O’Connor P'22, P'23, Associate Vice President of Outcomes and the Melly Institute Brandi Ferrara or Mary Herlihy Gearan, offering an opportunity to connect and talk about the HWS experience along the way.
