Come one, come all Reunion weekend is almost here!
On the weekend of June 4, 5, 6 and 7, alums from across the country and around the world will return to campus to feast, frolic and, most of all, reconnect with old friends.
The Colleges have planned a plethora of activities, including: Excursions on Seneca Lake Family Festival A night of jazz at Houghton House- The Finger Lakes Wine Festival Golfing Poetry Readings A Parade Mini College Classes William Smith High Tea Fireworks Quad Party with live music And much more!
Reunion has events and activities for everyone, says Jared Weeden 91, director of Alumni Relations.

Bob Masteller 60 will once again join with Al Scheeren 60 and Steve Venuti 71 for an evening of Jazz Friday night, and the Rochester Jazz Orchestra is set to swing in the 50th and 50th PLUS Reunions in the newly renovated Scandling Campus Center on Saturday while Brass Taxi rocks the Quad well into the night. Theres a little something for all musical preferences.
Reunion 2009 will also feature the annual Reunion Parade, this year lead by the renowned Empire Statesmen marching band, our local Geneva color guard, a Geneva fire truck, and, of course, Bart, the Hobart Statesman.
Were also excited to welcome back the 50th PLUS group, says Kathy Regan 82, director of Alumnae Relations, and we would like to extend a special welcome to those classes.
Whether its to see new buildings or old friends, Regan and Weeden encourage all alums to come back to campus and to bring their children. Reunion provides excellent programs for kids, including childcare and plenty of kid-friendly activities. Kids Camp and the Family Festival are just two venues offering children the opportunity to play sports with HWS athletes or partake in arts and crafts.
Reunion is also a great chance for alums to bring their high school-age children to campus, says Weeden. They can see if Hobart and William Smith are what theyre looking for in a school.
Regan and Weeden add that weather shouldnt be a worry. On the occasions it has rained during Reunion, no one even noticed because they were having so much fun, says Regan.
I also strongly encourage those celebrating a milestone Reunion to attend, she says. At my 25th Reunion, I danced with former classmates until 4 a.m. to our favorite songs from our college years and had a great time.
When alums come back, Weeden adds, they are sure to feel a renewed sense of pride in the Colleges. Time and time again, we hear our guests leave saying, Im so glad I came back.'
