PERSONAL STATEMENT

Directly before coming to the Colleges, I served as the inaugural director of the Writing Center and linked Writing Fellows Program at Harvard Law School. Prior to Harvard Law, I held a tenured faculty appointment at the United States Military Academy, where I also served for eight years as an associate dean under the office of academic affairs. At the Academy, I was the founding director and architect of the Stokes Fellows Program, an undergraduate enrichment program in writing, pedagogy, and critical inquiry; the Mounger Writing Center; and, ultimately, the cross-curricular West Point Writing Program. Prior to my time at West Point, I directed the Johns Hopkins University Writing Center for four years as a doctoral candidate.
