Nationally renowned literary journal Seneca Review is published twice yearly by Hobart and William Smith Colleges Press. Distributed internationally since its founding in 1970, the magazine focuses on poetry, lyric essays, translations, reviews, and “beyond category” works that resist traditional genre classifications. Publisher of numerous laureates and award-winning poets as well as emerging writers, Seneca Review is always seeking new, innovative work. Since 1997, Seneca Review has been a pioneer in advancing the "lyric essay," creative nonfiction that borders on poetry, first under the associate editorship of John D'Agata and now under Jenny Boully. HWS faculty, often with student assistance, oversee the other genres, and Geoffrey Babbitt serves as Editor. Notable contributors have included:
