The William Smith College tennis team was recently named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team. In addition, rising junior Hannah Webster was tabbed an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
To be eligible to receive the ITA All-Academic Team award, a member program must have a cumulative grade point average of a 3.20 or higher.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least a 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled in their present school for at least two semesters.
An LGBT studies major and All-Liberty League All-Academic selection, Webster played in eight singles matches and eight doubles matches in 2013-14. She went 6-2 in singles, posting a perfect 3-0 mark at the No. 6 spot. Webster went 7-1 overall in doubles. She earned a win at the top spot and went 5-0 at No. 3.
The Herons finished 2013-14 with a 14-5 overall record and advanced to the Liberty League Tournament semifinals.
