Hobart and William Smith Trustee Thomas S. Bozzuto 68 was recently featured as one of the 10 Admired Individuals in Multifamily by National Real Estate Investor. The publications 2014 Multifamily Housing Survey recently gauged the outlook for the U.S. multifamily sector (property fundamentals and investment sales), as well as the identities of 10 of the admired companies and 10 influential executives in the space.

Since its founding in 1988, Bozzuto has led the Bozzuto Group, which builds, manages and develops apartments, condominiums and single-family homes. He is the recipient of the Freddie Mac Builder of the Year award; has been awarded the Environmental Builder of the Year by the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA); and has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Metropolitan Washingtons Building Industries: the MNCBIA and the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association.

In his role as CEO, Bozzuto directs the development, construction and management of income-producing and for-sale housing in metropolitan areas located throughout the East Coast. In the course of his 40-year career, Bozzuto has overseen and been responsible for the creation of approximately 50,000 residential units with an estimated value of about $7 billion, thearticle continues.

While a student at HWS, Bozzuto was a member of the football team, Little Theatre, the Hobart Student Association and the Druid Society. He worked in Saga and graduated with a B.A. in English. He also holds a masters degree in metropolitan studies from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Bozzuto has served on the HWS Board of Trustees since 1999 and is a member of the Building and Grounds and Financial Affairs committees.
