HWS dance students and dance faculty participated in the Northeast Regional American College Dance Association (ACDA) Conference held at SUNY College at Brockport from March 12-16. Supported in part by William Smith Congress, students attended a variety of classes and watched performances for four days.

On the first day of the conference, Bonnie Bushnell 14, Ingrid Dehler-Seter 16, Emily Dove14, and Kaitley Wozer 15 performed Professor of Dance Donna Davenports On the Way, a comic quartet with music by Assistant Professor of Music Mark Olivieri, in the first adjudicated concert before a large audience of dancers, choreographers and educators.

On Thursday, Davenport performed her solo, Essere II, in the faculty concert, followed by a student performance on Friday of Karah Charette 14 and Mary Dinan 15. Titled Passive Aggressive, it featured music composed and performed by Zachary Bassage 15.

Throughout the conference, Davenport and Assistant Professor of Dance Kathy Diehl, Associate Professor of Dance Michelle Ikle, and Professor of Dance Cynthia Williams offered classes to conference participants in composition, ballet, jazz dance, floor barre, and modern dance technique.
