St. Johns Chapel will once again host the popular series Music, Meditation and Munchies on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 12:15 p.m. The event will feature organist MaryAnn Hamilton and guest violinist Loraine Schoenfield, a teacher at St. Peters Community Arts Academy in Geneva and former member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

The series often draws a diverse audience of both students and Geneva community members. Started by Chaplain Lesley Adams, the program offers individuals an opportunity to explore musical passion in a welcoming environment and in the company of special guest musicians.

Schoenfield is a graduate of Oakland University and has held several teaching positions across the country. For her work directing music lesson programs for disadvantaged and at-risk youth, she earned special recognition from the Presidents Committee on the Arts and Humanities in 1996. She has had a solo career since the age of 13 and has also been invited to perform in orchestras, recitals and operas in countries such as Italy, Germany and Austria.

Following the performance, a short meditation will complement the program and allow a more profound appreciation and understanding of the music. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch and molasses cookies will be served for dessert.

Music, Meditation and Munchies is held the first Wednesday of each month from 12:15 12:45 p.m. in St. Johns Chapel. All are invited to attend and enjoy the music, meditation and sense of fellowship that presides each of the programs events. The remaining schedule for the semester is as follows:

March 5- featuring Soprano Angela Libertella Calabrese, an adjunct voice instructor at Hobart and William Smith. She appeared most recently as Angelina in the American Landmarks Festivals production of Trial by Jury.

April 2- featuring Denise Morphy, an organist at the First Congregational Church of Canandaigua, where she plays a recently updated historic organ.

May 7- Colleges Organist MaryAnn Hamilton will team up with pianist Dr. George Abraham 59, a physician, philanthropist and marvelous musician, in a program of piano and organ duets. Abraham is an active member of St. Michaels Orthodox Church in Geneva.
