24 January 2005 Saperstein 04 Still Dreams to Hike Appalachian Trail for AIDS Awareness
Jesse Saperstein '04, who was instrumental in bringing Joey DiPaolo and his mother, Carol, to give a speech on campus last April, plans to do a through-hike of the 2,160 mile long Appalachian Trail. The DiPaolos and others are supporting him for the hike, and he is also trying to raise funds, 90 percent of which will benefit a camp catering to adolescents ages 13-19 afflicted with HIV or AIDS. He will depart for the hike March 9.
Saperstein was featured in two articles in the Poughkeepsie Journal (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) Jan. 20. Read the stories Local man to hike for AIDS group and DiPaolo's story gives inspiration.
