Hobart College senior midfielder Bobby Dattilo was named to the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America third team today. One of the most dominant faceoff specialists in the nation, he was introduced as a North-South All-Star yesterday.

In 12 games, Dattilo won 64.8 percent of his faceoffs and collected a team-high 93 ground balls, ranking second in the nation in faceoff percentage and ground balls per game. He also scored a goal and notched four assists. Twice this season, Dattilo matched his career-high with 21 faceoff wins (vs. Siena and Robert Morris). He also scooped up a Hobart Division I record 16 ground balls against the Colonials.

A two-time All-ECAC selection, Dattilo set the Statesmen Division I season records for faceoffs won (192) and faceoff percentage (.649) in 2011. He also collected 93 ground balls that year.

In 50 career games, Dattilo recorded five goals, 12 assists, 284 ground balls, and a .603 faceoff percentage (590-of-978). He owns the Hobart Division I career records for faceoffs won, faceoff percentage, and ground balls. Dattilo earned the Crook Family Award three straight seasons, as Hobarts most valuable player.

Dattilo is the 201st Hobart All-American and just the seventh to win the honor at the Division I level, joining Jamie Breslin 01 (2000), Greg McCarthy 05 (2004 & 2005), Fred Pawlikowski 98 (1998), Nathan Roost 98 (1997), Mike Sweeney 96 (1996), and Daryl Veltman 08 (2008). In all, Statesmen have earned 251 All-America awards.
