7 March 2012 Nearly 900 Registered for Seneca7 Race

Participation has nearly doubled for the second annual Seneca7 race that will take place on Saturday, April 28. The relay race around Seneca Lake features seven- member teams, running a total of 77.77 miles. Last year, more than 500 runners participated, while so far this years Seneca7 has 119 teams comprised of 833 runners, who have registered from seven states. Registration is open until April 23.

The Seneca7 race committee from Hobart and William Smith Colleges has been hard at work building support and involvement for the race. To garner even more involvement, the race committee will host a special interest meeting on Monday, March 12 at 8:15 p.m. on the first floor of the Scandling Campus Center.

We want to invite all HWS and Geneva community members who are interested in learning more about the Seneca7 to attend, says committee member Carrie Stevens 12.

Other race committee members include Laura Bacco 14, Cristian Cedacero 12, Alexamarie Crivelli 14, Courtney Cytryn 14, Emily Daddario 13, Sarah Depillo 14, Anna Hertlein 12, Will McConnell 12 and Carrie Stevens 12.

Runners can register as a team of seven or individual runners can join an already existing team. For more information, or to register, head to www.seneca7.com. The race will be capped at 150 teams of seven.
