Junior Emily DAddario finished first out of 126 runners and led the William Smith cross country team to its second straight Cross Country Only Conference Championship title. The 5-kilometer race was hosted by the Herons this afternoon at Seneca Lake State Park.
DAddario crossed the finish line with a time of 19 minutes, 00.64 seconds. She finished 1:50.26 ahead of the second place runner from SUNY ESF. DAddarios time is the best at the event since the first ever CCOC Championship in 2005. She has been the top William Smith finisher in every race this season.
The Herons earned the team title with 45 points. Clarkson claimed second with 54, and SUNY ESF rounded out the top three with 75 team points.
Sophomore Maggie Nash finished in third place with a time of 20:57.26. Right behind her was junior Kelly Watters who claimed fourth in 21:10.25. First-year Avery Share posted a 15th place finish, recording a time of 22:03.44.
Sophomore KC Cronmiller came in 22nd crossing the finish in 22:37.60, and sophomore Meghan Gaucher was next in 23rd place, clocking a time of 22:41.20.
William Smith will host the Heron Invitational at Seneca Lake State Park on Saturday, Oct. 22. The womens race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
