27 February 2002 DOIT Receives Enterasys Networks Training
Three members of DOIT have gone to Enterasys Networks training classes. Enterasys manufactures the network gear used by the Colleges. Barry Jones, director of infrastructure, and Mike Ruiz, network/enterprise systems engineer, spent a week in training on switching and routing at Microtech Information Systems in Rochester, N.Y. Ruiz and Frank Bartels, enterprise manager/network manager, went to Enterasys Headquarters in Andover, MA to study the Network Element Manager. This tool enables us to monitor and troubleshoot the network. Ruiz is now a certified Enterasys Systems Engineer.
