At the Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association National Championship (USCSA), the William Smith ski team finished ninth in the alpine womens team competition. William Smith competed against 110 of the top ranked alpine ski racers across the country in Lake Placid, N.Y. on March 5-10. 
William Smiths competitive finish placed them among teams from the University of Connecticut, Pennsylvania State University and Syracuse University. Individual highlights at the competition included a 21st place finish in the giant slalom and 23rd place finish in skier cross by Natalie Bishop 18and a 28th place finish in the slalom by Carly Fischer. Races by Conner Coco Clemens 18, Haleigh Quigg 18, Hailey Noble 18, Megan Shanton 18, and Kaitlynn Sockett 20 also helped the William Smith team advance. At Regionals, weended up crushing it and getting first, says Bishop, who served as the Hobart and William Smith ski team captain with Clemens and Chuck Anderson 18. To be able to compete at Nationals and to finishninth was anamazing way to end four years with the team.
The William Smith team qualified for the USCSA after finishing first at the 2018 Regional Championships. The Hobart team finished in a four-way tie for fifth place at the competition.
Going into the weekend, William Smith was in third place and Hobart was in fourth place in the Mid-East Conference.
Regionals were highlighted by standout performances from Bishop, who individually placed second in giant slalom and sixth in slalom; and Clemens and Sockett who finished thirdand fifth in the slalom. Other strong performances included top-10 finishes in giant slalom fromSockett and a 12th place individual finish in giant slalom from Eric Bonewald 21.
This season, the William Smith team claimed first-place victories at the Colgate Invitational, the Syracuse Invitational and Hamilton Invitational while finishing second at the Cornell Invitational and third at the RIT Invitational. The Hobart teams top achievements included a win at the Hamilton Invitational, a third-place finish at the RIT Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the Cornell Invitational.
