WS HockeyWilliam Smith hockey remains undefeated at 6-0-2 this season, an outstanding start in their fourth year as a varsity program. The Herons are one of just five teams that remain undefeated in Division III. Meanwhile, the Statesmen are ranked 11th in the nation by USCHO.com and D3hockey.com, standing at 6-2-2 overall.

The Herons are 4-0-2 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. Krista Federow 18 leads the team with 15 points on six goals and nine assists. Gina Scibetta 20 is next with six goals and six assists for 12 points. Maggie Salmon 18, a two-time UCHC Goalie of the Week, is sporting a 1.23 goals against average, a .952 save percentage and a 6-0-2 record in goal. Her six wins this season match her career-high set last year.

The Herons will put their undefeated record on the line on Friday, Dec. 8, when they take on SUNY Cortland at 7 p.m in The Cooler. Two lucky fans in attendance at William Smiths game will win an autographed photo of two-time U.S. Womens Ice Hockey Olympian Kacey Bellamy.

Hobart HockeyHobart hockey takes on No. 3 Trinity College in back-to-back non-league games in Hartford, Conn., this weekend, Dec. 8 and 9. The Statesmen defeated Skidmore in two New England Hockey conference games in The Cooler last weekend to improve to 5-1-2 in conference play.

Jonas Toupal 19 leads Hobart with eight goals and four assists for 12 points. Mike Faulkner 21 and Lawson MacDougall 20 have each added nine points this season. Faulkner has logged two goals and seven assists, while MacDougall has chipped in a team-high nine assists. Frank Oplinger 18 and Alexander Connal 20 have split time in goal this year. Oplinger has a 1.95 goals against average, a .927 save percentage and a 3-1-1 record, and Connal is sporting a 1.77 goals against average, a .927 save percentage and a 3-1-1 record.
