Statesmen Host Back-to-School Food Drive
5 September 2018 Statesmen Host Back-to-School Food Drive
The Hobart College basketball team is hosting a Back-to-School Food Drive to benefit the Geneva Center of Concerns food pantry. Contributions can be made through Sept. 9 in Bristol Gymnasium near the entrance to the swimming pool or at Boswell Field during the Hobart football game which begins at noon on Saturday, Sept. 8. The Statesmen ask for donations of canned goods or other non-perishable food items.
The Center of Concern operates a food pantry and store, both which are vital sources of support to the Geneva community. The food pantry is the primary source of emergency food for Genevas elderly and families in need. Serving approximately 10,000 people annually, the pantry offers emergency food to those who cannot make it through the month.
Hobart basketballs Back-to-School Food Drive continues a tradition of support by the Statesmen for the Geneva Center of Center. Four years ago, the team started the annual Hoops Against Hunger campaign, soliciting food and monetary donations for the Geneva Center of Concern.
