rt and William Smith Colleges 2018-19 theatre season begins this month with John CarianisLove/Sick, directed by Associate Professor of Theatre Chris Woodworth.
Set on an average Friday night in suburbia that marks a turning point for couples all over town, the assortment of nine rapid-fire short plays combine whimsy, poignancy and heartbreak in an ode to the messiness of love.
Each of the nine plays are their own microcosm that fits uniquely into the universe created when they all come together, says Woodworth. One moment you may find yourself laughing at their foibles and the next you ache with empathy for their anguish.
Performances run Thursday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., in the McDonald Theatre at the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts.
The cast includes: Emily Briggs 21, Eros Cabrera 19, Jack Caniff 22, Gianna DeVita 21, Aaron Donahue 18, Sal Fabio 22, Austin Jennings 19, Muhammad Sarim Karim 22, Associate Professor and Chair of Geoscience David Kendrick, Dominique Marshall 22, Tayah Payne 22, Maria Perez 22, Thomas Perry 19, Grace Ruble 21, Guest community artist Joanne Saracino, Christopher Williams 19, Leela Willie 22 and Ergisa Xhuveli 20.
The production crew includes stage manager Wren Andrews 21 and assistant stage managers Daphna Bendull 21, Ourania Sky Markaki 22, Natalie Miggins 22 and Troy Tedeschi 22.

Tickets for Love/Sick are $5 and can be purchased at the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts Box Office, Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., during the week leading up to the performance. A limited number of free tickets will be available to HWS students with ID one hour before each performance.
The production is open to the public, however it includes adult content and language and is not recommended for young audiences.
