The Handmaids Tale, the Hulu television show based on Margaret Atwoods 1985 novel of the same name and of which Warren Littlefield 74 is an executive producer, won Golden Globe awards for best drama series and best performance by an actress in a television drama.
The show, set in a dystopia era in which a theocratic totalitarian regime rules what was once the United States, won eight of its 19 Emmy Award nominations earlier in 2017, including Outstanding Dramatic Series, as well as recognitions for lead and supporting actresses, writing, directing, cinematography and production design.
Fargo, the FX series adapted from the film of the same name, is also produced by Littlefield and was recognized at this years Golden Globes for best performance by an actor in a limited series or motion picture made for television.
Previously, under Littlefields watch as NBC president, the network won an amazing 168 Emmy awards and numerous other industry honors. He joined the company as manager of comedy development in 1979. At that time, NBC had no comedies ranked among Nielsens top 25 shows. Less than two years later, he was promoted to vice president of current comedy programs. As president of NBC television, Littlefield was responsible for developing the shows such as Will and Grace, Seinfeld, Friends, Cheers and ER. The Littlefield Company, through which he now produces, represents the next chapter in his career.
