31 May 2019 Last Call for 2019 Annual Fund
Only one day remains to give to Hobart and William Smith Colleges Annual Fund and Parents Fund, whichdeliver criticalsupport for academics, global education, internships, scholarships, financial aid, facilities, technology and more.

The Colleges Annual Fund provides essential yearly support, says Vice President for Advancement Bob OConnor P22. We are asking our HWS community to consider making a gift to the Annual Fund as we complete the 2018-2019 fund year this week. The Annual Fund remains an institutional priority that fuels our students as they become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow. Every gift matters.
Thanks to support through the Annual and Parents Funds, 2019 graduates like Emily Bak 19, Bailey Carter19 and Alvin Randall 19 have immersed themselves in cross-cultural experiences abroad, undertaken competitive internships and completed groundbreaking research.
Baks semester abroad in Scotland offered new avenues to apply her computer science coursework in fieldwork settings around mobile app development, software

engineering and web technology and design. The Colleges Center for Global Education ranked no. 1 in the nation two years in a row provides transformative learning opportunities for HWS students, and they are supported by the Annual and Parents Funds each year.
For Carter, who has twice been named Womens Sailor of the Year by the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association, a summer internship at the Pace Gallery in New York City solidified her decision to pursue a masters degree in art history. These accomplishments were propelled by the Pauline A. Sammis 54 Annual Fund Scholarship as Carter puts it, I have had the most wonderful experience at the Colleges. I am so grateful.
Supported by the Annual Fund and Parents Fund, Randalls summer research at Cornell AgriTech examined fire blight, which can decimate an apple crop in the course

of a single year. For the Finger Lakes region, which is critical to New York States multi-billion food and agriculture economy, thats a big deal. Its a big deal for Randall, too, who plans to return to Cornell AgriTech this summer and then pursue a graduate degree in genetic research.
This years goal for unrestricted Annual Fund/Parents Fund giving is $3,850,000. Donations may be unrestricted often described as where needed most or directed to specific departments, programs or resources.
