20 February 2020 Herons Battle St. Lawrence

The William Smith College basketball team will host its annual Alumnae Weekend Feb. 7-8. The Herons will play conference co-leader St. Lawrence on Friday night and Clarkson on Saturday afternoon, while alumnae will compete in a 3-on-3 tournament Saturday morning.

Fridays game against the Saints will begin at 5:30 p.m. Following Tuesdays 75-64 overtime win against Union, William Smith is 11-8 overall, 7-5 in league play. St. Lawrence is 14-5 with a 10-2 mark in the conference. The teams met on Jan. 25 in Canton with SLU taking a 70-54 victory behind Katie Fredericks 28 points and 14 rebounds. The alumnae 3-on-3 tournament begins at 10 a.m. Saturday followed by a tailgate with current Herons and parents at 11:15 a.m.

William Smith will host the Golden Knights at 2 p.m. CU is 7-11 overall, 3-9 in the league. The Herons won the first meeting this season 63-55 in Potsdam. Following the game, there will be an alumnae gathering.

Four William Smith players are averaging double digits in the scoring column, led by Parisis 15.2 ppg. She also leads the team in rebounds at 8.9 rpg. Dimitrakopoulou adds 13.1 ppg, sophomoreStella Davis11.5 ppg and first-yearLauren DeVaneycontributes 11.4 ppg.

The Herons are in fifth place in the Liberty League standings, one game behind fourth place Rensselaer and one game ahead of sixth place RIT.
