29 January 2003 Rimmerman Discusses New Citizenship

Craig A. Rimmerman, professor of political science, participated on a panel titled The New CitizenshipEngaging Students in Democracy at the recent Association of American Colleges and Universities meetings in Seattle, Wash. Organized by Colgate Dean and Associate Professor of Sociology Adam Weinberg, the panel explored many of the issues/themes raised in Rimmerman's 2001 book The New Citizenship: Unconventional Politics, Activism, and Service.

In addition, Rimmerman facilitated a roundtable discussion among eight college administrators, one that addressed the following question: Are the disciplines essential to liberal education?
