She was named to the Deans List in each of her four years on campus. A Faculty Scholar, she is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Laurel Society, William Smiths junior class honor society. Gutwin earned a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic team in each of the past three seasons.

They are chosen by votes from members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Womens At-Large Academic All-America team consists of the top 15 student-athletes in bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, and water polo. CoSIDA also names a second and third team consisting of 15 student-athletes each.
To be eligible for an academic All-America team, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings.
