The fifth annual HWS chess tournament was completed with the championship game played on Friday, Jan. 17. The winner was Tim Chandler '04. The exciting final game was between Chandler
and Jasper Bernes, assistant professor of English. Chandler, who drew white, opened with his king's pawn, and Bernes responded with the Sicilian Defense. More than 35 individuals participated in the tournment, which was organized by Tom Millington, emeritus professor of political science.
