Ribbon cut; Admissions Center dedicated
2 May 2006 Ribbon cut; Admissions Center dedicated
The HWS Admissions Center on South Main Street was dedicated in ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Saturday afternoon, April 29.
Michael J. Hanna 68, director of Hobart Athletics, was one of many speakers expressing the Colleges gratitude for the renovations, funded principally by Trustee Thomas B. Poole 61 and his wife, Mary Jane Poole P91.
Hanna and others including Board of Trustees chair Charles H. Salisbury Jr. 63, P94 spoke glowingly of Mrs. Pooles work in decorating the interior of the renovated and enlarged building, which has gathered all admissions personnel into a single office.
In his response, Poole paid tribute to Salisbury and commented that the Poole familys gifts provided an entry door to the Colleges at the Admissions Center, and the Salisbury family gifts provided an exit door, through the creation of a career services center for students at the renovated Trinity Hall.
A story on the ceremony appeared in the May 1 edition of the Finger Lakes Times. Read HWS admissions to be Gearan House.
