Dr. Adriane Smith, a post-doctoral fellow in history at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, will speak at noon Wednesday, March 8 in the Sanford Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library.

Her talk is titled French-Women-Ruined Negroes: Black Soldiers, World War I, and the International Imaginary of Freedom.

A reception and Open Mic session, in celebration of the United Nations' International Womens Day, will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Intercultural Affairs House. Both events are free and open to all.

Her visit is sponsored by the Provosts Office and The Fisher Center for the Study of Men and Women, with organizational assistance from the William Smith Deans Office, the Planning Committee for International Womens Day, and Intercultural Affairs.
