Lathey '02 Has a New Vision: Medical Technician
7 January 2003 Lathey 02 Has a New Vision: Medical Technician
Alicia Lathey '02, participated in the third group of students in the New Visions Medical Careers program at Geneva General Hospital, a program that introduces high school seniors to health care professions. Lathey, a medical technician in one of the hospital laboratories, is now the first graduate of the program to become a full-time employee there. Her job includes doing throat cultures, urine cultures and blood work. I always wanted to be working in some kind of medicine, she said. I knew [working at the hospital] was something I wanted to do because it combines all of my interests in science [specifically microbiology and chemistry]. Her story, New Visions: Program grad working at hospital, was in the Jan. 6 Geneva Finger Lakes Times.
