Amy Goodman, host of Pacificas Democracy Now, was at Ithaca College and spoke before a packed house on The Importance of Alternative Media on Dec. 13. Her speech will air on Unwelcome Guests at some point. At the beginning she spent a few minutes praising WEOS and Mike Black, WEOS general manager, for helping to keep her program on the air. The rest of Goodman's talk was about the role of alternative media in challenging the manufacture of consent, and the small signs of hope in a dark world.
