22 January 2006 Founders Day Dinner

The annual Founder's Day Dinner, celebrating the founding of William Smith College in 1908, will begin with a fruit and cheese reception at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 in Comstock Dining Hall. Dinner will follow at 6 p.m.

This year's celebration will feature the Rev. Alison Propeck Harrity '95 and Deborah Piltch '83, both of whom have overcome traditional boundaries in their personal and professional lives.

Harrity graduated cum laude with a major in psychology and minor in religious studies. On campus, she participated in The Herald and Canterbury Club. She is now a minister at St. Davids Church in Wayne, Pa.

Piltch also graduated cum laude with bachelor's degrees womens studies and American studies. She completed an honors project and was a member of the field hockey team and Hai Timiai. An attorney, she specializes in disability issues. Other members of her family include Hobart alums Neal Piltch 78, Stuart Piltch 82, and Stanley Piltch, 85.

Tickets for the dinner are required and must be picked up by Friday, Jan. 27 at the William Smith Deans Office in Smith Hall.
