4 December 2002 Dean Lectures on Conspiracy Theories

Jodi Dean, associate professor of political science, gave an invited lecture on December at the University of Erlangen-Nuremburg in Germany. Her lecture was titled "Declaring Independence: Conspiracy Theories in America".

Dean was also used as a source in the story Getting Taken: Steven Spielberg, paranormal huckster on MSN. She pointed out that following 9/11, America's UFO fixation seemed to dwindle; with real invaders to worry about, it was hard to care about alien ones. Dean is the author of "Aliens in America".
