7 January 2026 Winter Wonderland Returns
Bundle up for outdoor fun.
A full slate of activities will welcome students back to campus for the spring semester when Winter Wonderland returns on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The annual event offers a mix of classic winter fun and unique experiences. Students can enjoy sledding, s’more-making and horse-drawn carriage rides, or try axe throwing, take snow globe photos and meet a dog sled team. To stay warm, hot chocolate and hot apple cider stations will be available throughout the evening, along with meals from a variety of food trucks.
Additional highlights include a laser light show, photo opportunities with an HWS ice sculpture, and an HWS mittens giveaway.
“Winter Wonderland is one of my favorite traditions for welcoming students back to campus for the spring semester,” says Assistant Vice President of Campus Life Kristen Tapscott. “It transforms campus into a space that feels festive, relaxed and full of connection.”
Activities will take place on the Quad, in front of the Scandling Campus Center and near the Gearan Center for the Performing Arts. The event is free and open to all students.
